Carter School of Dance Moving Into New Spaces and Holding Registration August 22

Carter School of Dance will be offering dance instruction in their new dance studio and adjacent dance rooms in the ALL NEW Community Center building beginning in September!

Severna Park Republican Women's Club Hosts Program on Taxes September 4

The Severna Park Republican Women's Club is pleased to sponsor a discussion led by Senator Andy Harris to discuss recently passed legislation, what to expect, and strategies in dealing with Taxes.

This event will be held at The Holy Grounds Youth Center on Tuesday, September 4, from 7-8:30pm.

Project Linus -- Next Meeting is September 15, 2007

Don't miss the fun and fellowship of making blankets for special infants and young children. Project Linus will meet in The Holy Grounds Youth Center from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. You may drop off blanket donations at The Community Center Office if you cannot attend or during June or July when the group is not meeting.

Registration continues for the After School Middle School (ASMS) Program serving students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade.

Creative Memories Scrapbooking Monthly Classes Start September 19 from 7-9pm

Kristin Hurff, Independent Consultant for Creative Memories, will offer a monthly series of classes for those interested in preserving photos and memories.

The September kick-off on Wednesday, September 19, from 7-9pm will focus on family, pet or school memories using the PicFolio Quick Kit. Class & Supplies Fee for family and pet albums will be $65. Class and supplies fee for the school album will be $91.00. You will need to bring approximately 24-48 pictures to complete your pages that evening.

Artworks Art Camps and Classes in the New Community Center Building

Julie Inman will be offering Artworks Afterschool and Home School Art Camp and Classes in the new Community Center beginning in September.

Home School classes for ages 7-9 meet from 10-11:00am and classes for ages 10+ meet from 11-12:00 noon on Mondays. Home school classes for ages 13+ meet 9:30-10:30am on Fridays.

Preschool "Mini Monets"classes for ages 3-5 meet from 9-9:45am on Tuesdays.

"Little Artists" classes for ages 5 & 6 meeting Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15pm.

"Fun with Artists classes for ages 7-9 meet Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30pm.

"Let's Sculpt" classes for ages 7-9 meet Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm.

Classes run in 8 week sessions and cost $120. Two sessions are planned this fall.

Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo Grand Tournament Scheduled for November 3, 2007

A full day tournament has been scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2007, with doors opening at 8:00 am and the tournament starting at 9:00 am. Lunch and dinner are planned.

Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo to Offer Kendo and Iaido Each Monday and Wednesday

Kendo (the art of Japanese fencing) and Iaido (a sword art focusing on mental awareness and the ability to react instantly) help to teach respect, honor, discipline and sincerity. The Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo Club will be offering Monday and Wednesday evening classes at The Holy Grounds Youth Center.

Iaido Classes - 6:45 - 7:45 pm
Kendo Classes - 8:00 - 9:30 pm

Cost is $10 per night or a discounted monthly fee of $45. Students must be 16 years of age or older. You may join at anytime.

"Bridge at the Center Group" Returns to Holy Grounds on Thursday, September 13

Join this very enjoyable bridge group weekly on Thursday mornings beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 12 noon. They meet at the Holy Grounds Youth Center every Thursday and drop ins are most welcome!
